Introduction:

I had to watch a movie for a school assignment. My mom suggested this film because my sister saw it sometime and she really liked it. Do you want to know what I think of this movie? Go watch this movie. 

 

About the movie:

Mae Holland gets a new job at a big internet company ‘The Circle’. The company is all about honesty; they need to know everything about you. The company has a whole campus where they offer a lot of activities for the employees. Mae likes all of it, it feels like a dream for her. But then she meets a guy named Ty, he is the creator of ‘true you’. They started to talk and Mae finds out secrets that she wishes she wouldn’t  had heard. 

Mae does everything that ‘The Circle’ asks her to do; when she gets into an accident and the camera from ‘true you’ saves her, this turns her life up side down because she could talk to the ‘ big boss’ Eamon Bailey and he suggests that Mae would film her life 24/7. She has little cameras everywhere she goes. More then 1 million people follow her every day. Because of this and the good speech she gives, Mae becomes more important to the company, she gets to say stuff. This hurts her family and friends because Mae changes a lot.

 

 

More about the characters: 

 

Mae Holland is the main character. Her father has a disease MS, a very difficult disease with his muscles and he struggles with this.  Mae is very naïve, she is doing everything that the company asks her to do and she thinks that everything they do is good for the community, but it’s not. 

 

Eamon Bailey is the face of ‘The Circle’ and the CEO. Everyone thinks he is a genius, kind, beloved and funny person but behind that mask he is a less nice person with weird ideas for the world. 

Annie is a friend of Mae, she also works at 'The Circle. She suggested that Mae also should work there. Annie is working much too hard so she is always exhausting. 

 

Costumes:

The movie is filmed in present time. Because you see people at work; they wear office clothes. But when they are doing activities they wear simple clothes, like jeans and shirt.

 

Special effects:

There are no special effects.

 

 

Opinion: 

I liked the movie because you had the feeling that you where looking in the future with all the technology. It was also weird to see that Mae didn’t notice that it was all so wrong what The Circle did and that she did everything that they ask for. I would give this movie a 9, because it was an unusual and creative story.
